Careers at Northland Floral:
POTTED PURCHASING ASSOCIATE
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Bulk buying for Canadian mass market orders.
- Communication with vendors daily to assess arrival times, staging concerns, additional supply if necessary
- Communication from sales reps to local vendors regarding credits, quality concerns, etc
- Communication with warehouse - discrepancies, shortages, etc
- Credits - gathering information, pictures, reviewing time frame, emailing growers
- Daily and weekly buying
- Grower visits & relations
- Printing labels for product arriving to warehouse OR for growers to apply at greenhouse level
- Purchasing Negotiator short term (within 2-week window, etc)
- Supply & Demand - daily communication & huddle meetings.
- Back up to other roles and duties in the department
- Other duties as prescribed.
Qualifications:
- College or University Degree or equivalent designation
- Minimum 2 years experience in Purchasing, Sales, or Business Administration
- Strong computer skills, including data entry and Microsoft applications
- Strong organizational and planning skills; attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
INTERMEDIATE ACCOUNTANT
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of resulting data
- Preparation of monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
- Carry-out month end journal entries (incl YrEnd adjustments per direction), accrual accounting tasks (as required), and maintain/update prepaid & amortization schedules
- Maintain accurate fixed asset/depreciation schedules and financial records
- Review/analyze Balance Sheet and Expense report accounts; Complete monthly Bank/GL Account reconciliations
- Collaborate on foreign currency revaluation/roll-ups
- Perform Revenue and expense financial analysis, with variance commentaries/notes, trends identification
- Carry-out special program financial reporting (ie. ScanBaseTrade “SBT”, etc.) and performance analysis
- Ensuring Compliance with regulatory reporting activities and rebate programs, perform timely submissions/filings (i.e GSTHST/WSIB/EHT; Fuel Tax rebates)
- Support internal Management and external accountants’ inquiries (adhoc+annual basis)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field required
- CPA designation or working towards
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic financial analysis and accounting principles, processes and guidelines
- Minimum of 2 - 5 years of relevant accounting and/or finance experience
- Proficiency in computer/accounting software(s), including data entry and Microsoft applications
- Strong time management, planning and organizing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
